The sum of 60 thousand dollars sounds solidly and for today, not to mention the beginning 90. And after all, revolutionary motorcycle Honda NR750 which has appeared in 1992 code-named RC40, stuffed with the latest technologies of those times, cost so much.
Road version of bike Honda NR750, successor VFR750R RC30 and NR500, has been let out in number of only 200 copies. Application of oval pistons and 8 valves on the cylinder along with the V-shaped four-cylinder engine was the most interesting technology used in this series-. Even after so much years only Honda can brag of this achievement.
Motor-magazine SuperStreetBike has prepared the version of a motorcycle which can become worthy "son" for legendary repeated winners of motorcycle races of Grand prix and a receptacle of modern operating time. What would you tell about occurrence of the accessible powerful device with V4 the engine with application of oval pistons? - Give me two!
SuperStreetBike Motor-magazine SuperStreetBike has offered the design for NR800 and has painted a technical component to come nearer to a reality.
Engine
Though it is primary NR gave out only"125 h.p., from 800 quite probably to squeeze out all 150. For example, having established injection system PGM with 46мм a throttle, as on Honda 1000RR 2008.
Chassis
In variant of SuperStreetBike, a motorcycle is equipped with frame R6 (approached in the sizes to CBR600RR), and modifed stretcher GSX-R that it perfectly held engine V4. Wheels and brakes are borrowed at Ducati, and an adjustable back suspension bracket - from latest models Suzuki GSX-R. In a motorcycle air lines for competent colling of the engine are thought over. The weight, by the way, thanks to all a shift, should be considerably lowered.
Rest
Original NR it is well-known iridian for a windscreen and the case from a carbon fibre. The variant from SuperStreetBike is more viable - carbon here less, and a windscreen - tonned from Lockhart Phillips. Sitting - that are established on Yamaha and Aprilia RSV4 are similar. Rear-view mirrors - are taken without alterations from model 1000RR.

2008 Suzuki GSX 1300R Hayabusa
The Suzuki GSX 1300R, also known as the Hayabusa, is a hypersport motorcycle introduced in 1999. The name Hayabusa is the Japanese term for the Peregrine Falcon, known for its speed, and perhaps a joke at the expense of the Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird which was the fastest production motorcycle prior to the Hayabusa. The Peregrine Falcon is a predator of the common blackbird. Its extreme performance capability has also dubbed the bike as a “high abuser” of legal speed limits.
Afterwards, certain bikes were out to dare the Hayabusa top speed for a production motorcycle, including the BMW K1200S, the Kawasaki ZX-12R and the new ZX-14. And now Suzuki has decided for the 2008 model that they’ll not only revamp the super-bike, but will boost the size of the engine from 1299cc to 1340cc.
The compression power increases from 11.5:1 to 12.5:1. The 41cc increase in displacement stems from a 2mm increase in stroke giving each tube of the Inline-four a final spec of 81mm x 65mm (bore/stroke). Inside, there’s a new three-ring aluminum alloy forged slipper piston. The motor also gets a new set of titanium valves for intake and exhaust. The sizes haven’t changed, but the alternative metal has reduced the weight.
A little technology pulled from the GSX-R line is the Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (S-DMS) which provides three options of power delivery. A 4-2-1-2 exhaust which meets Euro 3 and Tier 2 emission regulations has been attached. Overall length has increased to 86.6 inches while the wheelbase is same. A 15mm higher windscreen and vertically stacked dual headlights are a part of the new look. The seat and rear sub-frame have been lowered by 17mm.
A pair of 310 mm balanced front rotors (10 mm smaller) offer less unsprung weight and are pinched by new Tokico radial-mount calipers. The single-piston rear caliper grabs a larger 260mm rotor (+20mm). There’s a Diamond like Coating (DLC) on the lower section of the inverted fork for less stiction. The steering geometry is virtually indistinguishable at 24.2 degrees of rake and 98mm of trail, an increase of 1 mm.
The revamped instrument cluster now features four analog meters for speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and water temperature with a new S-DMS mode indicator, gear position indicator and adjustable engine rpm indicator.
Since its introduction, the major Japanese motorcycle manufacturer realized that the power and speed wars among flagship sports bike would not end and would eventually lead to increased government regulations, an unfavorable public image due to more fatal accidents and higher insurance premiums.
The new Hayabusa will be available in Orange, Blue, and Black. Expect to see this ‘fiend’ sometime in October with a price tag of $11,999.

BMW officially unveils World Superbike
The bike will be named the S1000RR, and BMW intend to produce 1000 road going versions in 2009 to meet the World Superbike rules.
The road version of the bike will have traction control and the engineers are working towards a target weight of 190kg with power to match at 190hp.
Adrian Roderick, general manager of BMW Motorrad UK told MCN that the S1000RR is unlikely to be in dealers until early 2010, as the World Superbike homologation rules give the firm until December 2009 to build road-going motorcycles.
The price is undetermined at this point but they will try to keep it competitive with similar Japanese superbikes. BMW want the bike to be a consistent top-10 finisher in 2009. They'll look to have a two man team with one experienced rider and one up-and-comer.

M/C engine in the front wheel Year of manufacture: 1923
trademark: Megola
type: 640 cc racer
year of manufacture: 1923
country of origin: Germany
The twenties were very interesting times in the development of vehicles, and also of motorcycles. The most important was technical development rather than marketing. One of the most remarkable designs comes from Friz Cockerel, who designed a motorcycle between 1921 and 1925 which has the engine in the front wheel. This was the Megola, of which about 2000 were sold.
The 5 cylinder star-engine was mounted in the front wheel, and the wheel turned around six times slower than the crankshaft did. It has only one carburetteur. The Megola doesn’t have a clutch, so it has to be push started.
Specifications: Rotating 4 stroke, 5 cylinders in the front wheel, magneto ignition, 640 cc (52 x 60 mm), 14 HP at 5000 rpm, no gears, 2 drum brakes on the back wheel, tank 14.7 litres, maximum speed 143 km/h.

Honda Oree Electric Motorcycle
Wanting to create an electric motorcycle for riders by riders was the German college students Nike Albertus and Andre Look’s dream.
By designing a concept bike for dynamic road riding, the students came up with the Honda Oree .
The minimalist design is fashioned around an electric motor with radical battery packs, this is placed around the circular edge of the powerplant – including the recharge plug. Having all the bells and whistles of the performance of an electric motor, including high torque at a low revs and quick acceleration, the design does not need a CVT gearbox or clutch, instead the power is transmitted directly via belt drive.
Naked design is the best way to describe the appearance as Albertus and Look wanted the driver to be able to see the suspension working, having the rear shock visible through the frame of the front seat. The designs appearance has an exposed attitude feel, which is what is obtained from the rider’s visual aspect.
The student’s ambitious college design includes a motor of 90 plus horse power, 125 lb-ft of torque and a top speed of near 193 kmph. Weight would be an average of 290-375 lbs with a range of between 128-305 kilometres, depending on the number of batteries used.
At this point the college project is still in finalization of the type of motor or batteries. However with backing by Honda RV, which Albertus and Look favoured due to their professional motorcycle knowledge and experience, it may not be too long before these finalizations are made…..

Lean Machine: Ferrari V4 superbike concept
This may not be the first effort at creating a Ferrari motorcycle, but it may very well be the best. Alfredo “Dino” Ferrari, the departed son of company founder Enzo, was said to have raced specially-prepared motorcycles in the 1950s. In the 1970s, Kay Engineering crafted a racing bike, now said to be worth half a million dollars, with full factory backing to honor Enzo Ferrari. In the ’80s, legendary motorcycle designer Arlen Ness styled a one-off chopper on the Testarossa, while some guy named George crafted a pair of Ferrari-powered superbikes. Last year someone built a custom Scuderia Ferrari chopper for the retiring Michael Schumacher (who has since been trying his hand at motorbike racing), and earlier this year a collector crafted a model of what a Ferrari sportbike could look like. We’re sure some more will be brought to our attention in the comments below, but while some of these creations have been more convincing than others, this one has to be the slickest.
The concept motorbike is the work of Israeli designer Amir Glinik, who centered his design around the theoretical application of the Ferrari Enzo’s V12 engine, chopped down to four cylinders and modified to drive just one wheel in a motorcycle frame. Around the V4 engine, Glinik has designed a fluid shape that may appear more futuristic in its styling than inspired by current roadcar designs, but certainly catches your attention. Glinik has even planned out the theoretical controls, which blend elements from an F-16 fighter jet (more common in his home country than Ferraris, anyway) and the Scuderia’s high-tech Formula One steering wheel, supplemented by a weatherproof touch-screen LCD atop the fuel tank.
Onetime Ferrari designer Frank Stephenson, now at arch-rival McLaren, was quoted as saying that the closest the average person will get to owning a Ferrari would be a Ducati. True as that may be, what you see here may be the most well thought-out and enticing application of the Ferrari ethos to two-wheeled motoring we’ve seen yet. Follow the link for more information, and check out the images in the gallery below for a closer look.

Riders on the US GP
Riders on the US GP |
Friday, 21 July 2006 | |
Heading into the US MotoGP it's no surprise to hear some fighting talk from the American riders. Colin Edwards says that if it comes down to another scrap between himself and Nicky Hayden then he knows he 'can come out on top this time'. Valentino Rossi has said 'I learnt a lot' last year - not what the locals will want to hear.Nicky Hayden“It’s a pretty good feeling to be leading the world going into my home race. Even though there’s a lot racing still to go and I really want to be leading the championship at the end of the season, I’m proud to go home to my fans out in front. Plus it’s a while since an American has been on top so I’m excited. But more importantly we’re going to go to Laguna and try to get 25 points.” Valentino Rossi"Even though I didn't know the track last year I was able to follow Nicky for many laps and then Colin too, so I learnt a lot from both of them," explains Rossi. "By the end of the race I was getting stronger and I actually set my best time on the last lap so I hope that this year we can be strong from the start and this time beat the Americans! We had some difficulties with the bike in Germany and we don't have time to make many big changes before this weekend, but hopefully the good setting we found for the race on Sunday and the data we have from last year will be enough. Colin Edwards"Before Sachsenring I said that I am not hoping to win at Laguna Seca, I am expecting to win, and that remains the case," affirms Edwards, who will be in Los Angeles on Tuesday to take part in a MotoGP bike parade along Hollywood Boulevard before attending the screening of the new MotoGP movie 'The Doctor, The Tornado and The Kentucky Kid', in which he stars. |

Special Yabsa 750 from Totti Motori
This Totti Motori effort comes from Roberto at Totti motors in Italy, a specialist parts and tuning dealership.
This creation is called the Yabsa 750 and is a special retro-future job, with parts in carbon, steel, a sports fork, and vintage structure, but with GPS navigation system. What looks like a messy mix, actually comes off well.
The engine is a touched-up Yamaha XS 650, with BSA chassis given this a kind of modern streetfighter look. No prizes for guessing where the company is based… Bologna! For more information and futher pics of Roberto’s creations, go to the Totti Motori site.

Superbike segment is slow but steadier in Singapore
THE Singapore exotic superbike market is relatively resilient compared with other countries in Asia, and sales may have slowed because of the economic crisis but they remain steady, say importers. About 2,500 big bikes were registered here in 2008. Within these, there is a superbike segment that is mainly dominated by the Japanese makes, which can cost from about $30,000 to $40,000. Then there is the niche exotic Italian superbike, which is even more expensive. A motorcycle bearing a Ducati, MV Agusta or Bimota nameplate can cost as much as $135,000, or about the same as a Mercedes-Benz C180 sedan. But someone eyeing one of these extremely pricey two-wheelers is more than willing to shell out the money because of their performance and rarity. 'It's a 'want' thing, not a 'need' thing,' explains Tiffany Pan, marketing manager for Minerva Motor, the importer for Ducati. She says Ducati owners enjoy their bikes as a hobby. 'Not many owners use a Ducati for transport; it's their weekend ride. They normally own a Ferrari or a Lamborghini and now they want a Ducati.' But the onset of the economic crisis led to sales slowing down late last year, says Ms Pan. Minerva Motor also experienced dismal numbers in the first quarter of 2009 - a total of 12 Ducatis sold in those three months. However, volume has since picked up. April saw 10 bikes roaring out the showroom, while May racked up 13 units. 'People still have a need to get a new toy,' explains Ms Pan, referring to the spike. Last year, Minerva registered a total of 101 units locally, mainly to male buyers. Currently, the model range is priced between $21,700 and $95,000. A limited edition model, the Desmo Sedici, was even more expensive at $135,000. But Minerva says this road-use version of Ducati's MotoGP racing bike has since sold out. The company also distributes Ducati in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and India. But so far, the Singapore market has been the first to register a sales bounce. 'The rest of Asia seems to be feeling the pinch more than Singapore,' says Ms Pan. The importer of MV Agusta agrees. Hong Seh Superbikes, which also has the distribution rights for Thailand and Indonesia, says sales in these two Asian markets are half of Singapore's. Still, the Republic's demand for the handcrafted bikes, which range from $48,000 to $65,000 here, is low mainly because of supply, says Hong Seh executive director Edward Tan. But 'demand is steady because those who can afford luxury toys tend to be less affected by the crisis'. Hong Seh has been selling 'one or two' MV Agusta models each month since it began representing the brand in November 2008. 'The bikes are very fast and very stable but also very rare because of their small volume,' says Mr Tan, explaining that factory output is limited to only about 6,000 units annually. 'They are handcrafted and every engine is tested on the bench,' he adds. So far, all buyers of MV Agusta here have been male, in their mid-20s to early 50s and are businessmen or professionals like doctors and pilots. Mr Tan says Hong Seh expects to sell about 20 bikes a year in Singapore. But then, Asia is a relatively small market for MV Agusta. Only 5 per cent of last year's total volume was headed to this part of the world. As expected, Italy accounts for the bulk of MV Agusta sales, absorbing 39 per cent of 2008's global sales. The rest of Europe follows with 36 per cent. while North America takes up 10 per cent. As for Bimota, it is an even rarer sight on the road. The stunningly designed Italian brand recently reappeared in the Singapore market with this year's BikeAsia trade show but most examples are said to be kept as a showpiece for the owner's visual enjoyment. Mean machine: Ducati sales here have picked up in the last two months
